Some people just don't have a notion of what real adoration or worship is, mostly those with a post-Baconian reductionist mindset, which leads them to think a few prayers or hymns or Bible readings constitute adoration, so of course they think our veneration of Mary is actually worship. Our own worship is centered on the Mass, wherein we participate in Christ's eternal self-offering to the Father. Of course, such people have no understanding of eternity beyond a grade-school rote definition.

How do you “participate” in a sacrifice when you’re not the one making the sacrifice?

Notice that they always refer to KNEELING, and FLOWERS, and CANDLES, and other things they can point to in a photograph.

They never cite the official prayers of the liturgy, or dogmatic statements like encylicals and apostolic constitutions, or catechisms and other teaching materials.
