Isn’t it normally called Praying the Rosary? A “Hail Mary” is a last gasp effort to try and snatch victory from certain defeat. I doubt this young champion was in that position.
The rosary involves a particular sequence and quantity of the Hail Mary, Our Father, Glory Be, etc. The prayer is indeed known as “the Hail Mary” in English. Latin: Ave Maria.

I take it she doesn't say a whole Rosary right before the Olympic event. It would take about 15-20 minutes, depending how far into the meditation she decided to go.
