I find it disturbing that some on this forum mindlessly defend those who shamelessly take advantage of their followers (”touch not the Lord’s annointed...”). The Crouches made a career out of soliciting money from those with limited means and used it to fuel their lavish lifestyle - as shown by the enormous mansion they lived in, private jets, etc. Their lifestyle had NOTHING in common with the humility of the One they claimed to serve.
That is an understatement. According to the New York Times: "The [couples] lavish perquisites, described by [estranged granddaughter and former financial officer Brittany] Koper and corroborated by interviews with two other former TBN employees, include additional, often-vacant homes in Texas and on the former Conway Twitty estate in Tennessee, corporate jets valued at $8 million and $49 million each and thousand-dollar dinners with fine wines, paid with tax-exempt funds..."
Apparently the Crouches had matching lavish "his & hers" mansions. This is inexcusable and an utter shame upon the name of Christ.
Make that MANSIONS
Paul and Jan had SEPERATE mansionS, one block away from each other.
I had heard in the latter years, he was in California, running TBN, she was in Orlando, running The Holy Land Experince.
An article from www.dailymail.co.uk States they had 13 mansions, plus a $50 million private jet and $100,000 mobile home for Jans dogs.
And for every soul they may have gained for Jesus, how many more were turned off from Christianity because of their antics?
