I’ve had similar thoughts. So ridiculous that putting on different clothing can change who you really are. All but one of my fellow servers are female, yet we wear the same uniform as the one male there. Does that make him more feminine or us more masculine? Of course not.
I’m also reminded about what God says in Deuteronomy 22:5, anything that He says is an abomination is not to be taken lightly. I shudder to think of how casual we’ve become (as a society, not individuals here on FR) about abominations: cross dressing, sodomy, abortion, etc.
Try saying on FR that fornication is wrong.
But that aside, for the society as a whole, the obsession with personal appearance, including "gender," has taken off at the same time as the concept of personal morality has largely disappeared.
