I suppose a lot of Catholics can’t understand anyone coming away from Catholicism

There are many Catholics who have seen their own children go away from the church, some to no religion at all. Three of my kids don’t go to church at all. I thank God for the one who is devoted to Jesus in a Calvin based Christian Church.

Five of mine reared in church, One of them a step child I met at his 7 years old, me and mom both born again and married, the remaining four from their first day safely from the womb

All professed Christ and served in Junior church, Kings Kids (kind of AWANA) and never complained about going to church

A lot of youth activities to help with the "socialization" queries ... my kids all had many Christian friends

None go to church now .... good kids .. moms and dads, but no Jesus
