When Paul list off those who will not enter the Kingdom he quickly follows it with: and such were some of you. The “were” is extremely important because it speaks to having repented of the sin. That doesn’t mean no more struggles but it certainly means that you cannot actively and openly continue in that sin, especially go so far as to think that it plays a central role in how you define yourself as a person.
Anyone who is “openly gay”, who defines themselves by that aberrant sexuality, has not repented from their sins. They remain in what might be called the: and such are you still category.
That such persons are all too common just goes to reinforce that we are in a Romans 1:18-32 era.
