I’ve never even heard of a professed Christian who refused to answer the simple question “Is Jesus Christ God?” without a resounding “YES!” One would think it’s the kind of statement a person would want to shout from the rooftops at any opportunity.
I don’t think “Jesus Christ is God” has moved the goalposts or is some kind of Catholic Approved Terminology. I don’t see how it’s asking you to jump through hoops, it’s a simple question... one that I didn’t dream I’d be in a position of asking you.
The reason you're not getting an answer is we know the next thing the catholic will do is ask, "well, if Jesus is God and Mary was the mother of Jesus, isn't she the mother of God?"
We're not playing that game.
Christians know the relationship between the Trinity.
We know Who the Father is.
We know Who Jesus is.
We know Who the Holy Spirit is.
We understand the relationship.
As explained before, the roman catholic definition of mary, mother of God, is different than how Christians understand Mary and God.
