I've a shorter list that shows how well CatholicISM works to purify men:
Pope Stephen VI (896â897), who had his predecessor Pope Formosus exhumed, tried, de-fingered, briefly reburied, and thrown in the Tiber.[1]
Pope John XII (955â964), who gave land to a mistress, murdered several people, and was killed by a man who caught him in bed with his wife.
Pope Benedict IX (1032â1044, 1045, 1047â1048), who "sold" the Papacy
Pope Boniface VIII (1294â1303), who is lampooned in Dante's Divine Comedy
Pope Urban VI (1378â1389), who complained that he did not hear enough screaming when Cardinals who had conspired against him were tortured.[2]
Pope Alexander VI (1492â1503), a Borgia, who was guilty of nepotism and whose unattended corpse swelled until it could barely fit in a coffin.[3]
Pope Leo X (1513â1521), a spendthrift member of the Medici family who once spent 1/7 of his predecessors' reserves on a single ceremony[4]
Pope Clement VII (1523â1534), also a Medici, whose power-politicking with France, Spain, and Germany got Rome sacked.
**I go to Mass six days a week. There is a rosary right before Mass. How could I get through a day without the rosary, Mass and Holy Communion?**
I’ve never seen a six day week calendar. What day is missing from the seven day week calendar? Hopefully a work day.
Evidently you have ZERO knowledge of Augustine...
Are you wearing a brown scapular now?
Rome's Mary says it works WONDERS!
So; Bob...
...how long you been Catholic now?
The caucus guidelines were broken more than once by members of the caucus.
When that happens we remove the caucus designation because it is being abused.
The thread will remain up.
Please click on my name at the bottom of this post and review the guidelines for postings on a caucus thread.
No need to pester the RM; as the answer to your question is found in this thread aS YOU READ FURTHER...
Yeah; get rid of the evidence and then you guys can dance around and high-five each other while extoling the greatness of your chosen religion without any separated brethren nipping at your heels.
This is NOTHING!!
Why I...
...I fast twice in a week: I give tithes of all that I possess.
The Pharisee and the Tax Collector
Luke 18:9-14 He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.'
But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."
Philippians 3:2-9 Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh-though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless.
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-
All that hard work and Paul counts it as rubbish for the excellency of knowing CHRIST.
Religion is worthless in knowing God. All it does it provide an opportunity for the flesh to brag about itself.
It was good for me to review the guidelines.
HMMMmmm...
I guess when CatholicISM gets Itself in unity; then maybe it can preach to us Prots asbout it.
GMTA; at almost the same time; too!
Human beings are not evil. Genesis 1:27 and 1:31 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morningâthe sixth day.
Mankind has a sin nature, a tendency toward sin.
If mankind was truly evil there would be no St. Jude's or Shriner's hospitals, no Albert Switzer, Mother Teresa, Salvation Army, etc....
Yes there are those few individuals that have done tremendous evil, but that is not all of mankind.
And?
Then came sin into the world.
KJV Genesis 6-5
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? —Jeremiah 17:9
wonder if there’d be any chess tips??
Jesus taught that lust was equivalent to adultery and hatred to murder.
Some people don't act on their impulses, but sin is conceived in the heart before it is born in the actions.
Just because some people have the self-control to not act on all their evil impulses, doesn't mean they are better than those who don't. God sees the heart and a heart full of lust and hatred is as evil as the man or woman who commits adultery and murder in His eyes. And at that point, it puts ALL of mankind in that category.
Given the correct circumstances and opportunities, there's not a one of us who's not capable of becoming a Stalin or Hitler, or Mao.
You can see it all the way down to the family level where a man beats his wife and abuses his children being a petty dictator in his own home.
The huge error of Catholicism, apparently, is the thought that man is inherently good and sometimes does some evil things.
On the contrary, man is inherently evil and sometimes does good things.
