Yes. Spelled C-A-T-H-O-L-I-C
There is only ONE way to salvation and that is through Christ.
It’s not a road.
It’s a PERSON.
Jumping to conclusions is a hallmark of Protestantism..
There are only 2.......I said 2.....not 6,4, 98, 33, .....2 dogmas that Catholics accept as part of Catholicism....Mary was Immaculately conceived..(ie. without original sin) and that she was assumed into Heaven.
All the other teachings, apparitions, comments, opinions etc. are just that...believe it or not, no obligation either way...
getting a new hobby can be beneficial.
Do you suppose it is possible, that eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that DON'T love Him too?
Works based religionists (WBRs) beware.
:-)
You probably need a priest to interpret it for you, so you can get all your questions answered.
As far as I know, all the rest of these guys can not interpret scripture, but they are allowed to read it, and tell you what it says. Does that sound familiar?
Oh, now I get it....somehow during your sophomore year you "GOT SAVED"and decided that the Catholic church was wrong.
That, of course is perfectly understandable....after years of diligent research, you determined that your interpretation, not those of church leaders over 2,000 years were correct.
Then you got on FR and decided to pass your wisdom along to those who hadn't been so enlightened....very helpful. Others have come along like the Navigators....have you joined them? some say that they alone have the truth....who knows....other than your soul, what do you have to lose....then, of course there are the Baptists...who are right..., the Methodists, who have the answer, the Lutherans...who could doubt them, the Presbeterians....nice group, the Episcopalians....wait a second, they accept same sex marriage....It's so hard, after you leave the true church, to find a suitable alternative!!!!.....sigh.
Yet weren't you the one who claimed, "There's not a knowledgeable Catholic who ever existed that believed that......ever"? I guess you would count Pope Leo VIII as an unknowledgable Catholic then?
Sure, if the followers of any religion were totally knowlegeable there would be zero muslims, VERY few Protestants, zero Mormans, and everyone, except those who misunderstood Catholicism, would be Catholic.
An honest question....the wisemen went to Heron and inquired where Christ was to be born...they found Him and were warned, in a dream, not to return to Herod...they returned by another route.......how do we know that? Christ was tempted by the Devil to jump off a cliff....the evidence is????
No qualified Catholic teacher ever taught that...I said qualified. If, as a responsible adult you had followed up on the true religion, you would have soon discovered that you had either been misled or, most probably, had misinterpreted the lesson. I am 77 and have had serious differences of opinion with the church.....alas, as I looked into them I reluctantly have to agree with some of them.
Whatever you and the Admiral say.....sigh.
sola nothing.
Talk about lack of memory......go to the drawer under your phone.....take out the book with white and yellow pages in it.....do you have it, O.k., now look under churches, Catholic....now find the one nearest you, probably just a few blocks. Now attend Mass, or if you have a problem, seek counseling with the local priest....BINGO, you have hit on the TOTAL truth of Christianity.
I slept through spelling class....what will be more detrimental, sleeping through God's word or kat?
I don't know about MM. I say YES, but I was already a professional air traffic controller, when I got saved. Remember I got baptized in the swimming pool at Bien Hoa Air Base. It was a really hot day, as are all days in Vietnam, and it was good to get in the water.

Affirmative sir. Do you have a problem with that? I don't.

By the way, thanks for that post, where you said all those other things can be accepted or rejected. Good. Now I can reject the Catholic Eucharist, confession to a priest, last rites, the indelible mark of baptism, holy orders, holy water. Is there anything else I can take or leave? The two you mentioned are negotiable.
Christ is a person...what's your point??
Yes, and it makes sense...I can read to you from a book on astrophysics, pronounce the words correctly, and you will learn only 1 thing...that I can read....I read, the priest teaches...see how easy it is??
He NEVER believer, nor taught, that the ONLY way to salvation was through Mary.
There are only 2.......I said 2.....not 6,4, 98, 33, .....2 dogmas that Catholics accept as part of Catholicism....Mary was Immaculately conceived..(ie. without original sin) and that she was assumed into Heaven. Thanks you very much terycarl. All the other teachings, apparitions, comments, opinions etc. are just that...believe it or not, no obligation either way...
I certainly accept what you said about Catholicism.
I have been saying for a long time that Catholicism is centered on Mary.
Not Jesus.
Straight from one of the most prolific Catholic posters on the Religion Forum. A veritable scholar are you, like the Church Fathers.
You indeed have finally posted the Truth of what Catholics believe!
Totally un-scriptural and Un-biblical, therefore heretical.
Colonel dude, Colonel. Get it right. The Air Force doesn't have admirals. I knew a US Army two star general, in Germany, who was with the Navigators. His son was also an Army officer. They were great Navigators, even if they WERE Army dudes.
I had serious problems with the way the Army troops treated each other. We Air Force guys treated each other like we were all certified human beings.
I don't know what the Army guys were doing, but they had some great Navigators too. You should listen to them. They will tell you the truth.
I know there lots of people who are not interested in the truth, but that's on them.
