12After this He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother and His brothers and His disciples; and they stayed there a few days

Do you think it is possible, that Jesus' family was trying to remove him, because they thought he was causing problems for the family?

...you all might consider actually discussing the thread topic

Hahahahahahahaaaaaaa!

No tagline will redeem the lack of argument in your posts! They are a waste of bandwidth, as you never seem to find the Scriptures needed to confirm the myths of the Roman Catholic cult.

Yep, TD Jakes is a good source for unScriptural folks!

Problems with T. D. Jakes Denial of the Trinity

Jakes unfortunately adopts an incorrect view of the nature of God.2 At The Potter House’s website, under their statement of faith regarding God, they state, “There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”

The keywords here are “three manifestations.” If Jakes believed in the Trinity, he should use words like “simultaneous,” “coeternal,” or “coequal” when referring to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit’s relationship to one another. T. D. Jakes view on the nature of God is known as modalism. Modalism is a heresy that teaches the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit do not simultaneously exist as distinct persons (see Modalism). Rather, God at some times and places is the Father, at some times the Son, and other times the Holy Spirit. -https://carm.org/t-d-jakes

I see that this thread took off in debate.

Wrong.

She was a perpetual virgin. Even Luther, Zwingli and Calvin claimed that!

So, would I be correct in assuming you have no plans to swim the Tiber?

Sad, when Mary tells the waiters (and us!)

“Do whatever he tells you.”

She gives Jesus all the credit.

IO hope that you have been paying equal attention to the postings of a number of your compatriots. At one time of another they have all posted equally heretical comments, including modalism, but that is none of my business.

“Luther, Zwingli and Calvin claimed that!”

They were schooled by Rome. It is enough the recovered the glorious Gospel of Grace. The freed church of Saints has recovered the rest.

If you throw a rock into a pack of wild dogs, the one you hit will always holler. If you aren't guilty why scream?

Okay, I don't have a dog in this fight (pardon the pun) but that saying makes zero sense. I get the intended analogy. But the dog doesn't yelp because it is guilty; it yelps because it got hit by a rock (for example, say, a slanderous statement). So the metaphor is really illustrative of nothing. Anyway, that's all I have to say. (And I didn't even get hit by a rock). :-)

I am happy that you finally admit the heretical nature of your claims about the mythical mary of Roman Catholicism, but then you claim it is none of your business.

Not what I said at all, I was referring to the various beliefs that all of the non-Catholics have expressed at one time of another about the nature of God in reference to the Trinity as well as the incarnation.

As for the claims about my "compatriots", prove it! I think that you cannot!

Think what you will; Forum rules prohibit bringing posts from one thread to another.

And Catholics seem to go on to ignore what He said here.....

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

It's the SPIRIT who gives life. Not eating.

The flesh, that He just talked about, is NO HELP AT ALL. IOW, it doesn't do anything. He's telling us that He's speaking a SPIRITUAL truth, not a physical one.

Are you of the belief that as we pray for each other, Mary can pray for us?

No. She's dead and in heaven and people in that position are done with dealings on earth.

These are just some of the FR threads on this subject. I have bolded the ones that have to do with language as you and I talked about earlier. Just a note on our politically correct society now -- remember when all Bibles said "brethren"? And now they all say (PC style) brothers and sisters? I think this has a lot to do with the misinterpretation of several passages of the Bible.>{?Here's the links I could retrieve -- there are more.

The more devotion to Mary means the less devotion to Christ.

That's not really true.

How many sequential hours do you spend [let's say during the week] focused only on Jesus, silently adoring Him, worshiping Him, reading the Bible? [Without being connected to the net, television, etc.]
