The Death and Vanity of David Bowie
IFB ^ | 1/15/16

Posted on 01/15/2016 7:52:36 PM PST by The Ignorant Fisherman

How tragic it is when a fallen human being gives themselves totally over to the base and lawless practices of this little fallen world and sell their souls seeking to find satisfaction and contentment by living a godless and lawless life. In the end of one's godless vanity there is an ETERNAL price to be paid which has now become a HORRIFIC SOBERING REALITY (Psalm 14:1-3, Mark 8:36-37, Rom. 3; 5:12-21, Gal. 6:7-8, Jude 1:11-13, Rev. 20:11-15).

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36-37

David Bowie's death this week has multitudes around the world reflecting on his existence here in time. Mr. Bowie was one of society's arch godless trendsetters who pushed the limits and boundaries of Almighty God's moral absolutes like none other for his time (Rom. 1:18-32). David was a mighty lawless tool and lewd vanguard in the hands of the god of this world in seeking to transform and destroy the Judeo/Christian culture worldwide (Matt. 7:16-18, Rom. 1:18-32, Jude 1:8-13,18). David Bowie is a trendsetter hero and worshiped by millions throughout the world for his anti - Creator trendsetting ways. What brief things I just shared about David Bowie is well known by all and his opinions and thoughts about Almighty God are his own judge on this matter.

My dear friend what are you talking about??

Just pointing out Almighty God’s position not mine.. Read the post before you write a reply.... no offense...

Your last sentence however is right on! That is why Jesus is mankind’s propitiation and mine (John 3:16-17, Rom. 3:23, 1 John 4:10).

Dear friend be careful of spiritual and moral relativism.. it is the wide road that leads to ETERNAL ruin (Matt 7:13-14).

My friend don’t let your hate and ignorance of sound simple Biblical absolutes get the best of you... Your reaction to God’s Word in this post shows and demonstrates your own personal war with the Almighty and the ETERNAL TRUTH of His Word.

Saul of Tarsus was just like that until he met Him on the road going to Damascus... Read Acts 9 my dear friend! God and His WOrd want only the best for ALL including DB...

May you have such a meeting!

John 3:16-17!

Hey... also remember this is the Religious forum and trying to get people to Think about simple and sound Biblical TRUTHs is not a crime at least no yet..... no offense...

Indeed my friend! Lawlessness only produces anarchy and caos.. sound absolutes (moral and spiritual) only produce peace, order and harmony... Rom. 10:4, James 3:18!

Most tragically many here do not get that!

My friend you need Biblical REALITY not vain traditions... (Matt. 15:7-9).

Read what you wrote and see the folly in it... but it could just be you are being a scoffer and agitator.. however....

Catholics are good people but do not want simple Bible truth and doctrine on salvation issues as I personally know. As an ex Catholic who personally chose to choose Almighty God’s Word and Truth over vain traditions.. I speak from authority on the matter.

Here are a few Bible verses for you to look up since you are a devote Catholic... Matt. 15:7-9, Heb. 9:27, John 3:36, Rom. 10:2-4

I hope you believe the Bible???

My friend Jesus stated to judge RIGHTEOUSLY did he not? That would assume that He would want us to be discerning to sound Biblical doctrines... Did not Paul rebuke the Corinthians for their lack of judgement etc... Matt. 7:16-17... When you use bible verses besure to use them in context and rightly..

Hurt not the Trees..... Rev. 7:13 (till)

Again we are just going by David’s own life and words... how’s that for judgement???

wow... Madonna, Ozzy, Toni Iommi, Lady Gaga etc.. all wear crosses too... they must all be believers.....

I totally do also friend... but again we are going by his own words and life message.. You have to read the post before you comment on it..

We all need the Savior... that is the message we are presenting... John 3:16-17... but who will hear it at FR... that is what this post has revealed!

Totally agree... freewill burning my home freep... but he opened the door for unbelieving individuals to freely follow his trendsetting and vanguard ways.. and in the end it is all vanity and ETERNAL accountability day..

That we as fallen men want accountability from other here in time how much more our ETERNAL Creator! Just seeking to caus people to think these thing through...

You do not know what was in his heart and the state of his soul when he died. Revelation can come quickly and so can repentance. You are judging him by the public life he led and the things he said and did. You have no idea whether or not he regretted all that at the very end.

I am not really a “devote” Catholic, but I try.

And, by the way, how do you know that David Bowie didn’t say “I’m sorry” to Jesus before he died, for everything he did that was sinful during his lifetime, that was not previously repented for? He could be singing with the angels now, while you’re busy muddying up the joint with your harsh judgement of him.

My man, he could of... but.. we are going by his actions and OWN personal testimony about Jesus Christ and salvation. Did a lot of research before I put this post out.. also before I became a saved man (a sinner saved by God’s grace) I ate drank and slept the music world... so I have some personal authority to what I am talking about... but... the point of the whole post is about personally know the Lord Jesus Christ as one’s Personal Savior as the Holy Scriptures teach... Google the Gospel of John Challenge... and take the challenge for your self my friend!

I am a sinner pointing people to the Savior... that is What He called me to do!

Before judging me... do some research before you start firing your condemnations..

What I said is that it is not worth my time to pay attention to the intimate details of celebrity lives. I have a lot more important things to worry about.

My dear sanctimonious friend,

You complain that people didn’t read your “post.” With 175 replies, it’s clear that folks gave what you posted quite a fair reading.

For an inexplicable reason, you truncated your post with (excerpted, read more at....) which is another way of saying “I will continue after a few words from our sponsor.” Most folks here don’t follow clickbait and it’s shameful that you expect folks to do so. Do you think so little of your content that you cannot post it here?

I think we can summarize the thread thusly: Folks read what you posted and many disagree or believe that you are misinformed at best; you are incredulous that anyone replied without taking your clickbait; you know more than anyone about what God thinks; and anyone who disagrees with your opinion must not believe the Bible because, well, they just don’t.

Did you watch the video? I did. It’s nothing to do with Isis. It’s full of occult and satanic imagery.

And yes, I’m going to judge it. The Bible says he who is spiritual judges all things.

I wish I had come up w/ sanctimonious because it is so perfect. You embody the worst of a street corner preacher couching your damning missives in friend, son, & mam. What you can’t hide is your full on belief that YOU are the end all be all of Godliness. You have the wisp of Grapes of Wrath desperate times.

Shocking as it may be.......many people on this thread seem to have no earthly interest in reading your “missive” or rant. So be it. I don’t need your faux compassion or various bible verses to get on track.

To: The Ignorant Fisherman; kiryandil; Larry Lucido; supremedoctrine; leaning conservative; ...

This article is in agreement with the New Testament. That’s God’s Word, not man’s.

I don’t agree with every word of the Ignorant Fisherman’s article. It’s not itself Scripture.

And I believe it does go too far to conclude that David Bowie went to Hell. I don’t believe that’s something anyone can say about anyone else. Ultimately judgment is up to the Lord for those outside of the Church. He’s God, and only He knows.

Yet what the Ignorant Fisherman wrote is far, FAR, FAR!! closer to what the New Testament says than the words of those who reject it here and who are offended by what he wrote, and attack him for it.

There is SO MUCH - SO SO MUCH of the New Testament being cast aside here - and not being considered and upheld at all. Considering all the SOBER, stone-cold sober words of the New Testament, that God Himself put in there, it’s amazing that concern for being true to those words is non-existent, and the only thing worth commenting about is Ignorant Fisherman’s error in ostensibly judging David Bowie (which I don’t think he truly is, but is giving the appearance of).

It’s literally straining out a gnat to swallow a camel.

People who profess Christianity, and some maturity in it, too, that they would counsel others, should remember that there’s a place in which Jesus tells us there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, but no hope of any comfort coming, ever.

And if more Christians did the judging or discerning of the works of people, including of the “stars,” which is their duty to do, then it would be the work of many working together, and in counseling each other on it it would be easier to avoid straying into judging someone, since the job would not just be left to just a few people struggling to do it on their own, who also work under the knowledge that they and their words are going to be attacked by many of the very people who should be helping them.

What the Ignorant Fisherman wrote here, as it pertains to David Bowie’s work, just expresses what the New Testament says to Christians.

And dozens if not hundreds of New Testament passages speak directly to Bowie’s work and the issues brought up here. I don’t want to start with posting some of them, because I couldn’t list that many and that would leave out all the others.

It’s staggering how much of New Testament Scripture is simply disregarded so often in the Church today.
