I agree. It’s the emphasis on giving *at least 10%.* People still to that very legalistically.

Do I sit down with my paystub, look at my gross earnings, (Not Net), and move the decimal point?
No. We have a predetermined ed guess on yearly earnings for us both and divvy 10 percent of that up into 52 weeks, rounding up to the closest 10.
That amount we treat as a ‘bill’ in our budget, giving it Gladly.
The very word tithe describes ‘tenth’. I cannot fathom the refusal to give, as some do.
