I criticize the Pope for certain things, but this is vulgar. And since this Pope is not speaking in English, her criticism might be due to bad translators or a media who paraphrases and distorts what is actualy said.

Spanish and Italian cultures are more emotional than Anglo Saxon ones, so you can't assume gay references from using words that portray emotional closeness.

It is, needlessly vulgar. And that obscures her point.

Here she is complaining about language and instead of using grown up language herself, like homosexual, she throws the word faggot around.

Nobody likes a good rant better than me, but this wasn’t one.
