Never mind that St. John (Wedding feast at Cana) teaches us to ask Mary to intercede with Jesus when we are in trouble.

It does nothing of what you claim.

Never mind that Jesus, hanging on the cross, gives us to Mary as her sons, and gives Mary to us as our mother.

have you read the Word?? He gave Mary to John. John was to take care of her.

Of course that's true. But the gospels were not written just to chit-chat about nice things that happened: "Isn't it nice that John took Mary in and cared for her?"

The gospels were written to teach us about OUR spiritual lives and the life of the Church. Therefore, when Jesus gives John to Mary as her son, and Mary to John as his mother, WE are being told about OUR relationship to Mary.
