Except we need to put our trust in others as well, inside the community that Our Lord loved enough to die for.

And Jesus said this where? Did he tell this to Nicodemus? The Disciples? Paul?

The term *mother of God* is a man-made construct which is never used by God in the Scripture He breathed out.

The term *mother of Jesus* is what is used in Scripture.

Using the term the Holy Spirit insired keeps people from confusion and deception about who Mary is that using man-made constructs will lead to.

If your claim is that by saying that Mary is mother of Jesus equals Mary being mother of God, then y’all are making NO distinction between the incarnation of diety and Diety Himself.

Therefore by your claims and failure to make the distinction, God is both human and Deity, and when Jesus died on the cross, then Deity died.

If we need to trust anyone but Jesus, that makes the statement that Jesus is not enough and He’s not good enough.

I’m not going there.

Either Jesus alone is sufficient and able to save to the uttermost all who come to Him or not.

And if even HE can’t do. it, then no man can do it.

It was directed to the anti-Catholic bigots that express the Nestorian heresy.

See post 363 as a perfect example.

My point is that Christ's Church consists of ALL those who are saved and have faith in Christ -- Roman Catholicism is not the "one true church" or the "one true faith." Yet, there may actually be Christians in the RCC; I hope so. But a Christian is a Christian, not a denominational name. And it's certainly not found in the Roman Catholic Cult.

Nailed it!

Again - wrong. You can pontificate all you want but you are still wrong.

Please explain how this is wrong.

If your claim is that by saying that Mary is mother of Jesus equals Mary being mother of God, then y’all are making NO distinction between the incarnation of diety and Diety Himself.

That is precisely the mystery of the incarnation. God himself became man. To say otherwise is to diminish into non-consequence the crucifixion, and to assume then that Jesus was a creation of God. Which is Arianism. It is not something to be distinct, except with respect to which person in the Trinity became Man.

The insistence that the incarnation literally means God became Man (Jn 1:14) is part of a basic Christian teaching. It's exactly what the title "Mother of God" defends. Because, Jesus the person was never at any time not God.

Oh and by the way, the word "trinity" itself does not appear in scripture either. But we use it because the word best fits the description of one God and three persons.

So if you want to be super restrictive to anything not directly word for word mentioned in scripture, than you'd have to do away with Trinity too. The same reason we can use Mother of God is the Same reason we can use the word Trinity. Because the description fits the word. To hold the scriptural interpretation to only a word for word application like you do makes the scriptures unintelligible and inapplicable. Since we should not therefore use any English words to translate it.

Thank you for proving it Catholic means universal

Typical to have a Catholic twist the meaning of my post in such an apparently subtle way.

Most posters see Catholic with an upper case "c" means Catholic as in a member of the Catholic church.

The church of Jesus Christ isn't Catholic, because NO unsaved non born again are members of the body of Christ.

I don't need to poont (poont? Catholicism sure has some strange words) to Scripture to prove something that's the game you and your sola scriptura buddies play.

A Catholic not accepting scripture (the Word of God, the Sword of the Spirit) as the Bereans did is not surprising. Tradition seems to trump God's Word.

Using scriptures to prove a Christian point should not be poo-poo'd.

Oh and nice nasty little dig, thanks for exposing the depth of your character.

I don't subscribe to that none se (is that the opposite of the Holy Se?) as I have already told you.

I never inferred that you did.

Sola or any kind of scripture seems to be quite the irritant to some Catholics here.

King James Bible
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
If you would like the Biblical scriptures for becoming born again linked or quoted for you I would be glad to do it.

Even though Catholic posts that break the guideline about no personal attacks are rarely removed, try to follow them OK?

Mrs. Don-o FYI

This Born again nonsense as you use it is a concept that stems from a misinterpretation of the Bible why do you presume I should accept that it’s correct in order to refute it, a logically impossible thing to do. I find it ridiculous that you and our fellow heretics think that once saved always saved.

God isn't as dumb as Catholics think he is...They obviously think they will just help him out and put the words in Scripture that he should have put there...

There's a reason God did not call Mary the mother of God...It's been explained to these unbelievers numerous times to no avail...Obviously they want to play with God's word to try to justify their religion...

Nestorian??? Oh yah, he's the guy who believed God and is condemned by your religion for it...He knew Mary wasn't the mother of God...

The Word Trinity does not appear in the Bible either. If all you have are insults and bad theology, you've obviously strayed very far from God.

*Rapture* and *sola Scriptura* don’t appear explicitly as words in the Bible and for that reason alone, both doctrines are disqualified by Catholics as being legitimate, but when it’s a doctrine they want to embrace, they are more than willing to ignore the fact that the word is not found directly in the Bible and accept contextual and circumstantial Scriptural support for it.

That is called a double standard aka hypocrisy.

Remember what Thumper’s mother told him.

Your assumption are as valid as the assumption of the Catholic Mary.

That would be anti-Catholicism verga.

Anti-Catholic connotes anti FR poster, individual or group.

Pointing our errors in Catholicism is not bigotry, but calling others bigots IS bigotry.
