There is some difference between the Church and the Magisterium, in this unusual case. It is rare for the Magisterium to be so broadly separated from the Church.
Not all, but so many. However, I remind myself that Holy Mother Church has suffered damage from popes before.

This is a sad blow.

As I recall, The beginning of the Protestant Reformation was the result of a series of Non-Christian Popes

But I've seen the full range of Human filth amongst Protestants also
