I like the song, but to answer the question....of course she knew.

No, she didn't know. Her reaction to the angel's appearing and greeting and her questions to his announcement show that she didn't know.

If she knew, the angel would not have had to tell her and explain how it was going to happen.

Luke 1:26-38 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, "Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!"

But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end."

And Mary said to the angel, "How will this be, since I am a virgin?"

And the angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy-the Son of God. And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For nothing will be impossible with God." And Mary said, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.

I like the song, but to answer the question....of course she knew.

The question is in regards to many things, (will some day walk on water; give sight to a blind man; calm a storm with his hand; the deaf will hear, the dead will live again; the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb; has come to make you new; will save our sons and daughters; will soon deliver you; has walked where angels trod; is heaven's perfect Lamb; would one day rule the nations; is Lord of all creation; is the great I am; when you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God), and the question is,

What did Mary know and when did she know it ?

Mary knew that she was highly graced (despite RC propaganda, often refuted here, the text does not say or teach that Mary was sinless and uniquely full of grace as the most holy saint, etc.) as being chosen to be the mother of the Messiah.

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. (Luke 1:28)

Mary knew that the Son she was given to bear would be great, and called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (Luke 1:31-32)

And she could know from Joseph this meant salvation from sin:

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)

And she knew the joy and filling of the Spirit and that this salvation included her:

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. (Luke 1:46-47)

And that because of what God did to her (not due to supremacy of virtue) and recorded, all generations would call her blessed.

For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. (Luke 1:48-49)

And she knew this Son was the fulfillment of the prophetic promise of the mercy of God.

He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever. (Luke 1:54-55)

For Mary knew the Son born to her was the long-awaited promised Savior-Messiah:

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Luke 2:14)

And the angel said unto them [the shepherds] , Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord... And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. (Luke 2:10-11,17)

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. (Luke 2:19)

And came to know somewhat of what this entailed as intimated by the prophecy of Simeon.

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.(Luke 2:34,35).

Mary also knew that this Child uniquely called the "Son of the Highest" (only distinctly called "the son of Mary" by those who only saw Him after the flesh: Mk. 6:3) was to be worshiped:

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. (Matthew 2:11)

Mary also may have later known Jesus could do miracles:

And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. (John 2:3)

But she also was reminded that Christ was subject to His Heavenly Father's will above all:

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. (John 2:4)

And that neither she nor family after the flesh had no overriding claim on His time, and that family included all obedient believers:

There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. (Mark 3:31-35)

And (after not being mentioned after the above instance) would see much of the cost to Christ of being the Savior, and realize the cost to her:

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. (John 19:25)

And of her Son's (after the flesh) provision for her care via the "disciple whom Jesus loved:"

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home. (John 19:26-27)

And as seen in the last mention of her (in contrast to what would be expected of a primary figure in the life of the church), she was part of the praying (to the Lord only, not anyone else in Heaven) disciples and realized the birth of the church and outpouring of the Spirit, glory to God.

Thus in answer the questions of the song, all can essentially be answered yes, if not all at once or in fullness or in details, which all who read Scripture and believe can know as well. .
