Jesus was the only sinless person because he didn't inherit man's sin nature which is passed on through one's earthly father. Mary had a father which meant she had a sin nature. She obviously was found worthy by God to find his favor, but no where does the Bible say that she had to be sinless.
I agree. In fact, the human mother of the incarnate God needed to be a virgin of the lineage of King David and Mary was both. I think it’s obvious that Mary was a godly and honorable woman and she is forever an example to us all of faith and courage. Saying she was born with a sin nature (what some call “original sin”) in no way disparages her or is hateful as some insist. She was favored by God with the incredible once in all of time gift of being the birth giver of the Savior - what an honor!
‘’Where in the Bible does it say Mary was sinless?’’
If you’re trying to call upon the Bible to make a point with Catholics, don’t even bother. They simply do not believe most of the Bible, as I’ve been told by many Catholic friends. What they say is that they have the made-up stuff, and they have the Bible, and when there’s a discrepancy, they’re obligated to defer to the made-up stuff.
Citing doctrine and theology to make a point is useless. If they can’t process clear and simple Biblical Scriptures, e.g., “one God and one Mediator”, the concept of original sin for all humans (including Mary) from Adam is too deep.
