I’ve seen the “frigid housewife” comment before, but it was not aimed at Mary but at the odd Catholic idea that she withheld sexual relations from Joseph for the duration of their marriage.
Even Pascal balked at that:
“The Gospel only speaks of the virginity of the Virgin up to the time of the birth of Jesus Christ. All with reference to Jesus Christ.”—Thoughts, 741
It is still an insult directed at the Mother of God.
It is possible to discuss the pros and cons of the dogma of the perpetual virginity of Mary without hurling sneering insults at Mary.
