Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward reality.

Wrong wrong wrong.

I notice no Scriptures are ever cited for these assertions.

Clearly the bible never uses the term “water baptism”. That should be the first clue a man made tradition is being taught.

Baptism is for the remission of sins. Acts 2:38, 22:16, Ephesians 5:26, Titus 3:5 among many other passages.
Baptism is for receiving the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 6:11 among others.
Baptism is for being placed into Christ. Romans 6:3.

We will just get crickets from those who teach:

Water baptism.......????
Spirit baptism........???
Baptism for obedience........????
Baptism as symbolic.........????
Baptism as a public testimony........???
Baptism as an outward sign of the salvation which has already taken place.....?????

No one saw any of these things in the Bible for 1,500 years for a very good reason............they aren’t there!

Really???

Act_1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

John baptizes with water...
Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost...

Water baptism and Spiritual baptism...
