The quotes you cite are not quotes from Pope Francis. I understand that these are on the agenda of what will be discussed in the upcoming Synod. "Discussed" does not mean "approved."

Saying "Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer to the Christian community." is not the same as saying "Sodomy" is a gift or quality of the Christian community. A person is more than his temptations and drives, and should not be identified with his temptations and drives. And people who actively practice the vice of sodomy should not be conflated with "all homosexuals," since there are chaste homosexuals.

Did you really think the part you quoted, indicated that sodomy itself is a gift or valuable quality? Really?

They are quotes from articles that were voted down by the quorum of bishops.

Despite that, Francis ordered them to be published in the final report.

So, “Yes”, Francis did have a personal hand in them.

No, I don't believe that filth. But I do believe the majority of Germany and Swiss bishops, and Francis do believe it.

Did you miss this:

“valuing their sexual orientation”?

You can ignore that only by ignoring his words.

And you can ignore his words of "“breeding like rabbits.” Absolutely contemptible.

Note that he said that is "NOT" what the Church teaches. He was refuting the Church's ignorant critics. And yes, the phrase he disavowed is contemptible.

And please note that you and I, too, have likewise used the phrase--- in order to disavow it.

This is not a quote from Pope Francis. Perhaps you missed where Pope Francis has often critiqued the larger ideology of "gender theory" which mainstreams, and even valorizes abnormal sexual orientations and gender dysphorias:

New Pope Francis called homosexual ‘marriage’ a ‘machination of the Father of Lies’

"Pope Bemoans Gay Lobby" (LINK)

Gay Advocacy Groups Rush to Demonize Poe Francis

Pope Francis: Gender Theory Is a Threat to Society

Pope: Marriage between man and woman is threatened by gender ideology

Pope Francis 'refuses' gay French ambassador

Pope Rejects ‘So-Called Gender Theory’

Pope Francis condemns gender theory a third time: ‘The family is under attack’

Pope Francis Defends Human Nature Against Gender Radicals

Pope's Shocking Hitler Youth Comparison (Pope blasts gender theory)

All this probably makes a difference for those who read words. For those who read minds, probably not so much.

Incidentally, it is fair to read actions, too. I am appalled by the unfolding story of Pope Francis' appointments --- some of them are terrible disturbing. Is he just letting them have their say, so when they are overruled, he can say, "You were given a platform, you expressed yourself fully, you can't claim anybody silenced you-- and you're wrong"?

It seems to me, at best, a risky strategy. At best.

This is not a quote from Pope Francis.

No, it is not. But it is a quote that Francis ordered being inserted in the final report, even though a quorum of bishops had voted it down.

Inserted into the program for discussion. Looks like he wants it discussed -—and I think the African Bishops will be able to do that nicely.

Why discuss sodomy? Didn’t God settle that long ago with a fine example?

Yes indeed, God settled the sodomy question a long time ago!

So why is Francis bringing it back up for discussion?

It's not the lawfulness or unlawfulness of sodomy that's now in question --- that was, as you said, settled long ago. As the Catechism teaches,

"Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved."

> There may be some pastors, though --- I don't know --- who are looking for some discussion on pastoral strategy for reaching gays?

Say a mom wants her little boy enrolled in your church's Vacation Bible School. He's enrolled, he's participating and making friends, he's learning his prayers and his Bible Stories, everything's fine. A couple days in, the church realizes that another lady comes and picks him up and she's also his "mom." He's being raised by two women.

The Coordinator of VBS program engages the ladies in casual conversation. She doesn't start out with "Uh, so you're both little Michael's mothers? Is one of you the grandmother? Or...what are you, queer?" Rather, she statrts out with something like, "You're new here. Good to see Michael loves VBS. Are you coming to Parents' Evening next Friday?"

Are they both allowed to come to Parents' Evening next Friday?

Or what? What is your next step?

What is your next step?

Kick the kid and his two mommies out of VBS. VBS should teach that sodomy is a mortal sin.

You would teach K-4th kids about sodomy?

And you would exclude and punish this little child Michael because of his legal parents?

That's what Jesus would do? "Let the little ones come unto Me! Except you, Michael!"

Looking for people to refute the errors and propose the positive pastoral strategies?

Why even introduce errors that have long since been condemned? Unless one wants to propose those errors are no longer evil?

And let's drop the pastoral and get back to doctrinal.

Two mommies are not legal parents. And Michael and his lesbian “mommies” are not a good influence, in a VBS or any other Catholic setting, for the other kids. I’m sorry you don’t realize that.

Of course not!

My question is: Why are you defending Michael and his two mommies while they do it?

First, yes, they were his legal parents. Not married according to Divine or Natural Law (reality), but legal in the state of MA, and now, throughout the USA. Though of course I am still working to change that.

Second, VBS is supposed to be for the good of a needy child like Michael--- not expecting him, personally, to be a source of doctrine, guidance and influence to the other kids. We look to the adults to provide good guidance and influence for him, in the name of Christ Our Lord.

Don't you realize for whose benefit VBS is supposed to be?

What's your pastoral strategy for Michael?
