Trump *might* be on his way to his own Damascus.
Stranger things have happened.
While I would much prefer that Trump be on more solid ground with his faith, I have to also look back at Jimmy Carter - who said he was a born-again Christian. He also taught Sunday School and still does. Do I doubt his statement? That’s between him and God. I think he is a moral man, but he certainly wasn’t a friend of Israel. Then we have GWB, who evangelicals rallied around - look how that turned out. While there again -he was a good, moral man - he did things which made us scratch our heads. So, I guess we are not electing a pastor, but rather someone who isn’t perfect, and knows he isn’t. Someone who is a strong ally of Israel - which is of utmost importance to God. GWB tried to split Jerusalem - which is a no, no, in God’s eyes. So, on a deeper level, there may be more to this than just someone proclaiming their faith and favorite Bible verse. GWHB also had the Madrid Peace Conference, attempting a peace settlement between Israel and the Arab nations. He wanted them to give up more of their land that God promised Abraham. These president need to be very careful in dealing with Israel - regardless of what she has or hasn’t done as a nation - she is still the apple of God’s eye and He will judge all nations according to how they treat her.
Secretly, in their hearts, the religious conservatives all believe that the soul of The Donald is about to be redeemed and a great conversion is either under way, or about to commence.
There are no perfect men, so God has to work with the imperfect where He finds them. And The Donald is on his scope right now.

Prayers for His protection/safety over Trump and his family.
One of the most compelling yet mystifying facts about the Bible is how God consistently uses the most unlikely characters to bring about His will. God seems to choose the unlikely so often that it has to be His plan to do so. What better way to bring glory to Himself than to transform the seeming untransformable and empower them with the ability to save His people. Maybe we’re seeing, in Donald Trump, God’s present-day Rahab.
