Yeah - what Claud said.

Our Lord told us that laws were made for man, not man for the law, which tells us that laws exist for a reason. Reasonable men may (and should) argue over the best application of law, but without laws to help us set the boundaries of human interaction, things can get very violent in a hurry. Ab Chaput (as markomalley notes) fails to make the case for open borders by not acknowledging the very real concern many of us have for a flood of potentially violent people.

Another excellent point. ISIS types are coming over the border to commit acts of terror. So it's our responsibility to let them in? Does the state not have an obligation in charity to keep these murderers out?

The whole thing is absurd. Might as well tell Catholics to remove any locks on their doors.
