My sister is married to a divorced Catholic. They both go to church and he takes communion. He’s even on the Parish council, helping the pastor with the books. I don’t think all that annulment business is really necessary. He didn’t bother with it and he’s just fine.

He either did the annulment... or is grave state of sin.

If his Pastor is knowingly allowing him to take communion... he may as well be trying on millstones.

Are you sure his first marriage wasn't annulled?
