Yet we have the redemption of Jesus on the Cross. Is that for both persons and nations or just for persons?
We know the start of the tribulation (the last 7 years) when Israel signs a 7 year treaty with the Anti-Christ. Look at the end of Daniel 9.
Hmmm...interesting...when did all the trees and green grass in the world die? When did all the oceans turn to blood? And all the fresh water become undrinkable? When did Jesus come back and set up His kingdom in Jerusalem?
In Revelation 20:4-6 the FIRST RESURRECTION is revealed. There are only two.
4 "Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years."
Note in verse 5 is the second resurrection at the end of the universe before the new heaven and new earth are created at the end of the rule of the Messiah.
Where are we now? This is but the beginning of the birthpains. Only the beginning. Remember the 10 plagues were progressive to give pharoah the chance to let God’s people go but God allowed Satan to harden his heart and in the end the Passover became a prophecy of the Messiah.
Have faith and be prepared. As Jesus said before His Great Tribulation, “Watch and pray.”
Read the New Testament from beginning to end and make lists. I would use Excel and put the events in the columns then compare the lists.
Revelation can be confusing because it has parts but once you read it a couple of hundred times it becomes familiar. I use the New American Standard Version from Biblegateway.com for copying and pasting.
Never include 2 Thessalonians 2.
3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
Yep!
My reply was to this post:
“Noah was spared Gods wrath, as was Lot, Moses and the Israelis in Egypt etc. This is the reason why the pre-trib rapture theory has merit.”
Israel and Judah have in fact experienced the wrath of God on a national level. The remnant of individuals are usually the faithful.
Your question is another lesson. Hey, I think it might be possible for God’s wrath to go back through time so everyone will experience it. Like a wave reverberating through time. Then there will be no doubts as to when Jesus returns, He can return through time and every generation will be held accountable. Cool, eh?
As I have been just looking at the stock markets going haywire today, I am begining to wonder also.
Yeah, I just saw it, too.
The thing about the end times is that it is those who do not have the mark that go hungry and thirsty. Everyone else parties on. So if the world market crashes, enter the business man who has the answers.
....Or those who do not have the mark have to form fellowships to help each other.
You clearly do not understand 2Thessalonians.
It is all one event that happens “in the twinkling of an eye.”
As to resurrections, there is only one unto eternal life, the first. the one that comes at the end of Yeshua’s 1000 year demonstration of the total depravity of man is a resurrection unto judgement, and the second death.
The occupants of the thrones are those resurrected at the last trump, the first resurrection. That is everyone that that will ever be saved in that resurrection.
The resurrection at the end of the thousand years is not the first resurrection! That is a goofy misreading of the verse, not understanding that the mention of those to be resurrected 1000 years later to the second death is parenthetical to the subject at hand in the chapter, which is totally the first resurrection.
Obviously there is no rapture at all but the first resurrection.
.
>> “Which to me is a blanket statement that all Christians, throughout the entire world, are going to go to Petra or where ever the protected place actually is.” <<
.
No not at all!
Only those that “watched” (kept his appointed times, and thus understood when the call came to go to that place).
To those that do not watch, he comes as a thief. (Rev 3:3)
Yeshua makes the same point in the letter to the Philadelphians, praising them for having kept all of his commandments, thus gaining protection from the hour of temptation.
Obviously those expecting a never to happen secret rapture are not aware when the call comes, and thus must face tribulation and death at the hands of the man of sin and his government.
Israel, and the elect, Yeshua’s assembly, are one and the same. (not all of genetic Israel, but “the lost sheep of the House of Israel” and those others that sojourned with them)
All of the Bible is addressed solely to Israel, in that sense. Yeshua assured us that there would be “few” that would follow his way.
.
The first resurrection is at the second coming as taught in Rev 20. The rest of the dead are resurrected before the destruction of the universe.
.
There is only one tribulation, and it is, as the Bible clearly states, 3.5 years long, ending in the First (and only) Resurrection, on Tisri 1, the Feast of Trumpets.
Read Matthew 24 for the most clear and concise revelation of the timeline. Yeshua is telling his disciples that his return would be Tishri 1 when he states “no man knows of that day but the Father in heaven,” which was what had been said of Tishri 1 since Sinai.
.
.
>> “The first resurrection is at the second coming as taught in Rev 20” <<
Yes, sort of correct so far, although actually it is 15 days before the actual second coming to the Earth, which is at Succot (Tabernacles), Tishri 15.
>> “The rest of the dead are resurrected before the destruction of the universe.” <<
But that “resurrection” is 1000 years later, unto judgement and the second death.
.
So what denomination is it that you belong to?
what is Tishri?
Ah, Hebrew calendar.
