Thus the confusion that Rome has created.
Hail Mary; Mother of JESUS has EXACTLY the same 'meaning'; but it does NOT have the magical power that Mother of GOD has; does it.
Nope.
The Greek word for *Lord* is "Kyrios", not "Theō" which is translated *God*.
Busted.
Remember this when Mary is given all the things that COULD have happened; but were NOT recorded as doing so.
NO one gives a SIN offering if they haven't SINNED!
Do YOU go to confession just to be chummy with the priest?
How can YOU not recognize your own strawman after you build it?
To: Elsie
You mean absolutely DEAD. I.e., not in Heaven or in Hell. Not existing? Annihilated? In other words, those who are deceased are non-existent?

Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ.
Thus, Mary is the mother of God, the Second Person of the Trinity.
And there is a great example of the theological error that claiming Mary is the mother of God can lead to.
Mary is NOT the mother of the divinity of Christ, as saying that she's the mother of the second person of the Trinity states.
Claiming that the second person of the Trinity has a mother, makes him a created being, with beginning, robbing Him of His deity.
I don't care WHO you mean.
What does the Greek SAY?
Dang it Mom!
I was enjoying seeing him try to slither away!
You know. Without sin.
Being full of grace does not mean sinless.
Grace is given to sinners. Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds.
If Mary was all that graced, it was because she was a great sinner.
If Mary had no sin, she didn't need God's grace.
So, you are saying that Mary (actually, her parents), should have BROKEN THE LAW.
THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SIN.
There is no parallel between the sin offering and modern confession. The sin offering was a prescribed ritual, not a personal confession of particular sins. Confession is NOT mandated on any kind of schedule—i.e., after childbirth, or before marriage, etc. It has everything to do with particular, personal sins of which a Catholic is aware.
Pretending that a passage about a MANDATED RITUAL, a law that applied to every Jew, provides information about the state of the state of Mary’s SOUL, is a classic example of Scripture-twisting.
False premise.
God cannot do anything.
Even Scripture tells us that there are things God cannot do.
We can point them out if you need.
The notion that IF Mary was sinless, she did not need grace, or a Savior, is absolutely baseless.
Mary’s sinlessness was a result of grace. It was the result of the saving death of Jesus Christ.
How can you call yourself a Christian when you hold, with atheists, that deceased people no longer exist?
Scripture constantly talks about people being dead.
Even Jesus used the word *dead* to describe people whose bodies have quit working.
Are you telling us, then, that Jesus claimed those people no longer existed?
By your reasoning, that would be the case.
While that may be true, it certainly gives one the impression of that.
If we were to have met Ms. McGowan you would have introduced her as your mom with all the implications of the word mom.
There is nothing REAL that God cannot do.
Of course, God cannot make a square circle, or a rock so heavy that he cannot lift it, because those are not real things.
God cannot do things that are contrary to his nature. E.g., God cannot lie, or have malice.
Same experience here. No man made religion has any control over me.
:-)
Only sinful people need to obey the Law.
That's just my point. Only ignorant people have that impression. The proper response to ignorance is to transcend and correct it, not wallow in it.
She is not noted as being sinless in the Word....anywhere.
catholic encyclopedia online tells us there is no direct proof found in Scripture for this false teaching.
Since when did posting Scripture ever stop a Catholic from trying to slither?
