The low and warm water on the Columbia River will cause a lot of fish to die:
“Federal and state fisheries biologists say the warm water is lethal for the cold-water species and is wiping out at least half of this year’s return of 500,000 fish and by the end of the season that death toll could grow to as high as 400,000.
“We had a really big migration of sockeye,” Ritchie Graves of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration told The Associated Press. “The thing that really hurts is we’re going to lose a majority of those fish.”
He said up to 80 percent of the population could ultimately perish.”
Of course they go on to blame global warming. Actually it is the beginning of an El Nino, and a high-pressure system parked off the coast of the Pacific Northwest most of the winter kept any rain/snow away from us.
Bad stuff has happened throughout history. Even worse stuff than today. I’m a bit skeptical of the “the moral decay is as bad as it has ever been” thing. Not to say that we may not be rebuked by God in a very tough love sort of way (exiled to Babylon, etc.)- but I don’t think the Second Coming will find us any worse now than other times in history.
Of course, more people have had the Gospel told to them, and IIRC that is one theory of what God is waiting for. Whatever - it will be on God’s terms - not ours.
Doesn’t explain the deaths of sea life all along the left coast and other animal die offs noted above
Still following Fukushima??
