As the world waits to see what the end of a seven-year biblical cycle known as the Shemitah may bring this fall, New York Times best-selling author Rabbi Jonathan Cahn issued a warning to prepare for economic calamity, war in the Middle East or even worse.
*snip*
In The Mystery of the Shemitah, Cahn described how this biblical pattern is connected to numerous events in modern history, including the rise of America to superpower status, World Wars I and II, the return of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland, the Six-Day War and even the rising of the World Trade Center.
He also noted a pattern of judgments at seven-year intervals in September 2001 and 2008 marked by the greatest crashes in Wall Street history, up to that time. The first occurred on Sept. 17, 2001, just a few days after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and the second occurred on Sept. 29, 2008. Both occurred on the biblical day of Elul 29, the very day appointed to wipe out the financial accounts of a nation. The next one occurs on Sept. 13.
"For years, financial observers have been mystified why it is that all the greatest crashes tend to take place the same time of year," Cahn says. "When is it? September to October. What if we take the greatest crashes in history. Do any of them take place at the end of the seven-year cycle of the Shemitah at the time of the wipeout and the answer is, 'Yes.' Every single one of them does. And the thing is the phenomenon is increasing. It's intensifying."

For your consideration......
Thanks for posting this. Just read the book, mostly understood and will take heed, but what to do with the warning in such a short time?
How to prepare? I sort freak out.
Could talk to Kartographer.
Get right with God first, and then address the rest.
BTW, about two weeks ago, I was planning a trip for the middle of Sept, just for the heck of it, and as I was looking at plane tickets, I very clearly felt God telling me not to go, that it would be dangerous. I did not tell anyone that.
The very next day, someone said they had a word from God stating that someone was planning a trip and that God said to tell them, “Don’t go there”.
The day after that, I told a friend and she looked shocked and said that they had been planning a trip in Sept too, and felt they shouldn’t go, to put it off.
Today in church when I related it to someone, she told me about this. This happens to fall on the EXACT day I was planning my trip for.
I’m absolutely staying home for the month, and going through my prep supplies.
I see this as different than Y2K cause that was man sounding the alarm. This time it seems that a number of Christians are sensing this from God.
And no, no clue what’s going to happen. I’m not predicting any specific event nor did I feel God telling me that.

IMHO, the thing for the individual to do is TITHE, and keep on tithing. It demonstrates one’s faith in, and obedience to, God’s Word.
Having read the book months ago, it’s the only thing I know to do. Trust and obey....which is what Israel did not do.
As an aside, who KNEW that Christian-Founded United States of America was supposed to observe the Shemitah, too? Which of the great preachers of the past or present, OR Rabbis, for that matter, ever preached it?
Just placed On Hold at local liebury. Got more spare time now.
The right with God...I’m okay. What exactly is the rest that I have a month and a half to “cram” for?
If I may......I think the check you felt in your gut, which caused you to bag your trip plans, was the Holy Spirit guiding you. Be very grateful for it....and obey it.
Absolutely.
This was confirmed twice in as many days.
I’ve been stopped by God before and I never go just by one feeling. That’s also why I don’t say anything to any one. I don’t want someone playing off what I said. But when two or three completely unrelated sources give me the same message, I know enough to listen.
That is very interesting!
Another incredible study is the history of awful things that happened to Israel on the 9th Day of Av (Tisha B’Av).
The Book of Daniel does say, that, in the Last Days, “Knowledge will increase”. People have always interpreted this to mean earthly knowledge, and, by all means, that has been the case.
But, perhaps it could also mean a deeper understanding of the various clues in God’s Word? People tend to throw out teachings that are “new”, or that have just emerged in the last century. But perhaps they aren’t new at all, have been there all along, and are just becoming clear?
Of course, it is very important NOT to “add to the Word of God”.
Agree with your last sentence. I do think that up until the late fifties we honored God and fell into line spiritually as a nation by default. Our nation went through trials, not looking at/heeding a biblical calendar, but we were basically Christian.
I’m making sure we have enough food and other supplies.
Which isn’t hard.
I do this sort of thing for winter any way, cause I hate finding I’ve run out of something in the teeth of a NY winter storm.
Interestingly, my car is due for a timing belt, so I was already planning on having my mechanic make sure everything was hunky-dory. I need new tires and need to get them before the next inspection is due.
I’ll be going through my freezer and looking at what I have, what needs to be used replenished with fresher stuff.
Clothes I’m good on. Medical stuff, medicines, I will make sure I have before Sept.
Ammo I’m good on.
I am not in shape to handle the zombie apocalypse, but I can get by for a couple rough months.
I do NOT know what is going to happen, but since I prep to a degree anyway, I’ll just do it earlier than usual
We are not under the law any more and God loves us and reaches out to us even when we don’t keep it.
While I don’t have any problem with tithing, I wouldn’t advise it. He already knows out heart and our level of commitment to Him, and we don’t need to prove it to Him.
It almost smacks of trying to manipulate God, which is just doomed to failure anyway. He owes us nothing, even if we give everything we own to Him.
When is the 9th of Av this year or next year?
2015: July 25-26
2016: August 13-14
2017: July 31-August 1
2015: July 25-26
2016: August 13-14
Another book by Rabbi Cahn is “The Harbinger” addressing the various warning signs America has been receiving. Possibly culminating in a major event or the first stage of a major event near the end of the current Shemitah in September. There are some good videos of his discussions on YouTube
I got interested after hearing an interview with Pastor John Hagee and buying his book “ Four Blood Moons: Things Are About To Change” again focusing on September 2015
September definitely has some uneasy vibes to a number of people.
Jade Helm spooked a lot of folks ( ends in Sep 13,) and the U.S. govt and mainstream media has issued a warning to the U.S. west coast of a major severe earthquake expected at any time.
In December 2014 the French foreign minister gave a speech warning that the world had 500 days to avoid a climate catastrophe. That takes us to September. The IMF chief LaGarde also made a very strange speech warning of disaster coming and said she was told to say this.
I am at the least preparing for a major financial event. Like 2008 on steroids. There are some good YouTube videos with advice about weathering a major financial event as in banks grocery stores drug stores credit cards - closed for days or even much longer
Get right with God, prepare for self sufficiency for a period of time and watch the skies ... If nothing happens you won’t have lost anything
Great Minds Think Alike! LOL!
Whether this is right or not, eventually destruction and chaos are coming. There is only one way to be prepared. That is to be tucked safely in the care of Jesus Christ. Nothing else will suffice.
