What happens if they sodomize again?
We need jobs to remain in our country; we need to stop discrimination at workplaces for those who are older or handicapped; and what of our Veterans who come home and can't get work? We owe our Military anything we can give them! Not everyone who is on public assistance wants to be. Some have worked all their lives. Until more programs are in place to bring jobs in, and incentives to hire Americans, there will be those who genuinely need help. No one is pointing a gun to anyone's head here. Compassion and charity come from the heart.
The mantra of the 60's was...
(Squirrilius Travoltius)
Didja hear about the two queer Irishmen?
Patrick Fitzgerald and Gerald Fitzpatrick
How does one FORCE an employer to hire those who are less productive?
Do we want a FREE country; or one run by rules that are conjured up by those with no skin in the game?
Urban Treeboy
That’s a new low.
Lol, needs a little hat and boots!
No I didn’t hear...
Not quite so. Our tax money is used to subsidize the lazy along with the unlucky and deserving. If we refuse to pay up, decline to leave our home when they take it for taxes and tell the process server to get lost, they will eventually send men with guns. They will evict us at gunpoint.
Until more programs are in place to bring jobs in, and incentives to hire Americans, there will be those who genuinely need help.
And with all due respect, "programs" are what caused much of this debacle to begin with. Government should be creating an environment that encourages rather than punishes success. Then they need to get out of the way!
For those who genuinely need help, there is charity, freely given, not stolen as part of a redistribution effort that empowers the left.
Words of wisdom that bear repeating.
Looks really OLD to me!
What's wrong with it?
A dead body adorned later with all kinds of finery.
Very similar to a Dead Mary being covered with all kinds of titles and abilities that were NEVER noticed during her life on Earth.
say it out loud...
No doubt....
The assumption that Americans who are older or handicapped are categorically less productive will automatically exclude people from work opportunities. There are other qualities: a good work ethic; sense of loyalty to the company; the need to be a productive member of society, rather than turning their nose up at tasks others deem too menial. These are intangible qualities that make a good employee. There are laws in place for reasonable accommodation for these people, that employers seem to find a way around. And what of the veterans? Not only disciplined, knowledgeable; hard-working people, but people to whom we as Americans have a moral duty to provide help for- they were there for us.
I'm no politician, but there used to be incentives in place to hire the handicapped, those collecting unemployment, and our veterans. I wonder how many employers take advantage of these, and how many would rather let them go by the wayside. There are older members of the work force who lose jobs and can't afford to go back to college and start over. This is no longer the land of opportunity.
As far as productivity, everyone should have the opportunity to earn an honest living- at least give them a chance! Baby boomers born 1960 or after can't retire at 62/65 -for them it's 67/70. Americans lose jobs that get farmed out to China, and what happens? People end up on public assistance. I'm not into forcing anything, except by boycott and better enforcement of existing fair labor laws. There is no simple answer. I just know that the America we live in now is nothing like the one my parents described when they'd talk about living during the Depression they grew up in. THAT is sad.
In not Jesus, Elsie, but I know I’d be really PO’ed of someone depicted my mother that way. Maybe turn over a table or two...
Charity should be given freely, and without all the red tape, to those who really need it. What of people who need it because no one will give them a job? Not because of a criminal record, or flunking a drug test- but because they're close to middle age, or can't get around as quickly as some. There are laws in place to avoid age discrimination, and for reasonable accommodation for the elderly and handicapped. Maybe they worked all their adult lives and would rather work than live on charity. It isn't as simple as all that. It's painful and humiliating, especially when the qualities one has to offer simply aren't appreciated by potential employers. With the freedom must come some responsibility- at least to give fellow Americans a fair opportunity to earn their own living. Redistribution of income, no. Too close to socialism in a country that's too close to atheistic. Slippery slope. Instead, spend the capital more wisely by manufacturing in America, giving jobs to Americans, so that the money can be pumped back into the American economy- and fewer people will be needing assistance.
It will cost more in the beginning: but more people will be back on their feet, have more money to spend, maybe even go back to starting small businesses of their own that can grow, and get a little more competition back into, at least local, economies. This is about work, not handouts.
It is all about using the power of the state and its involvement in marriage to punish those that can never accept ‘gay marriage.’ If it was actually about taxes or money there would be a much higher % of gays actually getting married in the states where it has been accepted for 10+ years, in my opinion.

Bottom line: How do we get the bums off while helping the deserving?
