Mine did not. Though my parents got a stomach-churning lecture from their pastor. They are on the high side of 75 and are now thinking about leaving the Church.
Or to translate: full of bullsh!t, deliberate lies, and buzzwords
Not a word of it was spoken from the pulpit in the church I attend. It was a good homily synthesizing the readings regarding trust in God. Twins were also baptized.
This Pope is a far cry from Saint John Paul. This Pope advocates slavery and oppression. He just doesn’t realize it. It seems the Catholic Church is working on conversion to the Church of Man Made Global Warming. We must all worship and obey governments now.
Read yesterday a comparison of this document to the Unibomber’s Manifesto. Seems about right. Can’t imagine it getting much mention anytime soon. Pope Francis is destroying what is left of the Catholic Church with non-sense like this.
Papa Francisco is doing to the Catholic Church what Obama is doing to the USA.
Not sure how they could know this for sure. It seems their sample size wasn’t all that encompassing.
Also, I think this coming Sunday might be more indicative since many priests may have wished to read through the whole manifesto first before discussing it.
Thankfully not a word at my church.
Much attention was focused on Charleston instead.
This is a sad excuse for a Pope.
It was mentioned that the encyclical existed. Nothing more
Instead our homily was about the miracles of faith. It was very good.
The Catholic Church has been and is a leftist entity. It is dark and greedy and turned a blind eye to the sexual abuse of countless innocents. It is akin to the Democrat Party that is run by communists and Marxists. It meddles in things it does not have the moral foundation to comment on in the first place. I was raised in the middle of it, left and never looked back. Fantastic people are Catholics but the church itself is broken.
Not a single mention of it at my Mass by the priest, deacon or parishioners.
Perhaps priests have figured out that preaching such claptrap means empty pews and empty collection plates.
How can they do this? They have to follow the pope in all he says.

If not, it sounds like they’re practicing their own personal interpretation of Scripture.
