“The Catholic Principle of Subsidiarity (upon which “distributism” relies) is tossed out the window when calls by popes and green patriarchs for “global regulatory norms...needed to impose obligations and prevent unacceptable actions” (LS, #173) are put on the table.”
Distributism is grounded in the economic system of the pre 4th Crusade Byzantine Empire. Do you suppose that Subsidiarity is likewise Byzantine or are we looking at a fortuitous coincidence?
Do you honestly think that the Church of Rome is going commie? Really? As for calling for “global regulatory norms”, isn’t that what The Church does? Is dying to the self, becoming like God, as +Athanasius the Great says, different for a, for example, Chinese or Ugandan than it is for a Western European?
No. It is based upon Sacred Scripture.
"From whom the whole body, being compacted and fitly joined together, by what every joint supplieth, according to the operation in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in charity." (Eph 4:16)
Do you honestly think that the Church of Rome is going commie?
No. Individual members of the Church are promoting liberation theology.

The pope and bishops have been empowered by Christ to teach, sanctify and govern the faithful in spiritual matters. Opining on global warming and agitating for global regulatory norms obviously doesn't fall within those parameters.
