So it doesn’t take any effort (or work) to think, reason, act and accept faith in Jesus?

Are you a robot or just a denier?

God stopped the action He requested of Abraham before he completed the task. Abraham did the will of God. That is what God asks of us.

Read the passage again and open your heart to the truth therein. When Abraham was on the way to the mount, he told those with him to wait at the foot of the mount and THEY, him and Isaac, would return tot hem after the sacrifice! THAT IS FAITH and THAT IS WHAT THE SCRPITURES teach Abraham had that was counted for him righteousness. It was not the actual placing of his son on the altar ready for throat slitting that God Honored, for we see that God told Abraham t0o hold back the knife, that GOD provides the sacrifice. Abraham displayed his faith in God's Promise BEFORE he went up the mountain! So, when God provided the sacrifice for Abraham to use, was it Jesus that Abraham was to slaughter and let the blood flow out upon the ground, or was it the animal entangled nearby? But that can't be if the Bible is not using metaphor!

A catholic has not a clue what is faith and what are works nor their purposes. Commit the sacrileges, accept the judgment. Abide by the sacred and be Graced with the Gift of God's LIFE. The Jews at Pentecost believed, and God showed His acceptance of that by placing His LIFE in them, not by drinking blood in contradiction to what His commandment had always been, but by their faithing in the words spoken by Peter. Did the words of Peter place God's life in them? Or did God honor their BELIEF in Christ as Savior and Lord thus resulting in God to putting HIS LIFE in them? And once God puts HIS LIFE in you, no man, including ADSUM, can take that LIFE out of you.

NO!

It takes a heart response, not ritual, sacrament, baptism, communion, acts of mercy, whatever physical activity that Catholics claim is necessary to gain or keep salvation.

If we work, our salvation is wages due, not a free gift. Forgiveness is not forgiveness if it is merited or earned.

God credited Abraham with righteousness BEFORE he ever did a thing except believe. When God established the covenant, Abraham was asleep for it. The work was God's

Genesis 15:1-21 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.” But Abram said, “O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir.” And behold, the word of the Lord came to him: “This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.” And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness.

And he said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.” But he said, “O Lord God, how am I to know that I shall possess it?” He said to him, “Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” And he brought him all these, cut them in half, and laid each half over against the other. But he did not cut the birds in half. And when birds of prey came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away.

As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him. Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years. But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions. As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age. And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates, the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites and the Jebusites.”

Ummmmm seems to me that faith is listed as a gift of the Holy Spirit ..Ephesians 2:8–9 Embed 8 For by grace you have been saved athrough faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
