To be clear.....you're a good catholic....you're driving down the road and somebody swerves in front of you. You fly into a bit of road rage hating the idiot in front of you. He brakes hard and you rear end him sustaining fatal injuries.
As you've committed a mortal sin in your road rage and it's unconfessed.....Heaven or Hell?
Better yet, he’s driving in a 20 mph school zone, at 22mph, even though his speedometer reads 19 mph, has a heart attack and dies immediately without confession. Heaven or Hell?
Better yet, since St Peter has the keys to the gates, regardless the decision, what happens if one of those decisions happens to not line up with the Plan of God?
Of course these simply expound upon 3 classic blasphemies of Divine Justice.
1) To confess sins to other believers. They cannot absolve you from sin or return you to fellowship with God.
2) To feel sorry for your sins and substitute that sorrow for repentance as a method of returning to God and counting on that for forgiveness.
3) To go through some system of penance or works for forgiveness.
Our self-righteousness and human good is dead works, Heb6. All human works are excluded from salvation through faith alone in Christ alone.
All human self-righteousness is excluded from the unique
Plan of God for the Church. Immorality is also excluded.
God’s righteousness does accept our righteousness in faith alone.
No one is saved because they are good.
No one is saved because of self-righteousness.
No one is saved because of their works.
