What about it? Unlike today, in those times women were subservient to men. A manly man did not SERVE his wife - or wives. Nowadays, with television constantly portraying husbands as good-natured, bumbling foils for the sharp with of the wife, we are turning into “girly-men.” Marriage is supposed to be a sharing partnership rather than a service by one side to the other.
