Nice try at misdirection.
I was not trying to misdirect. I am just curious as to how you think hurling insults, what you call items of provocation, will get anyone to recognize the truth that you believe you find in Scripture.
Several of the statements in response to my question do add to the conversation. To say that “following the guidance of His Holy Spirit resident within me” gives one something to think about. So does your comment: “Scripture is the deposit of faith. The Holy Spirit is the assurance. Everything comes through our walk with Him, failing and triumphing, one day at a time! It is walking/living by faith. God offers the same to you. . .”
This is truly an inspiring statement and could make one think, hey, maybe WVKayaker has something there that I might want to ponder.
But I don’t see how saying some “defy any definition of ridiculous and pompous, with error-filled posts;” or that what Catholics believe is a “Figment of a Roman Catholic indoctrinated cultic imagination...;” or calling Catholics Papist idolators would get anyone to consider what you are saying.
I cannot speak for others, but from my perspective, your stinging comments do nothing more than get me upset; and in no way gets me to consider what you are saying.
If you truly desire to get someone to recognize the Truth that you have found in Scripture, I believe you would be more successful if you were to share what inspires you rather than hurling insults. But that’s just me.
Peace,
Rich
You did take the time to read it all, obviously and I appreciate the reply. So many of the Roman Catholics herein seem only interested in making meaningless comments and snarks.
I started this tact a number of years ago (I have been here before and have an original signing date older...) when confronted with cereal boxes and such from an RC Freeper. I found a site and made cereal boxes which poke fun at the idolatry and such of that religion, and always scan the net for images, Scriptures, etc.
I am product of a religious family. But, I did not find Christ as my Savior until a young married man. Before that, I played "church" really well! Later, I attended a Bible College and sat with some wise men and women, learning to seek the Scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work.
Do I always succeed? Of course not! But, I believe that Salvation comes through faith in Christ and that Scripture was given to us by God, not by any religious group.
Finally:
2 Timothy 1:12b ...because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day...
...14 Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you--guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
That's unfortunate. Maybe if you tried to pay attention more, it wouldn't happen so often.
Here's a small clue for you - I wasn't the one who posed the first two options.
Pray for our mods; for they need MEDS!
They were posed as a question.
Did you answer it?
Acts 13:36
"Now when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.
I wonder what MARY's purpose was?
I wonder what ever happened to her??
To give birth to Christ and help raise Him. To show Him the love that only a mom can show.
To support His ministry.
To be a faithful wife and mom.
To provide Joseph with sons and/or daughters after Jesus was born.
She did all of these things.
That's all we need to know.
Very good! Isn't it better to review the discussion before interjecting yourself on a tangent?
Did you answer it?
So much progress, but then it appears you haven't finished your studies.
Probably; but I am not the one whose first post in this thread was...
Al Hitan hasn’t created an about page.
I might try to guess why; but...

Considering your first post on the thread, I can see why your pouting.
And it's still better than yours.
I might try to guess why; but...
Nobody is stopping you. Feel free to jump to the worst conclusion you can. After all, you seem well experienced at it.
You seem determined to pick a fight.
Aren't you participating voluntarily?
Good point.
creepy
This Pope (Celestino V) was put up for display....but then the earthquake in central Italy brought his remains down on the floor!
