I learned it watching FR Protestants. As long as they agree John 3:16 means the moon is made of green cheese, they'll all swear to it, and insult your faith for not agreeing.

I learned it watching FR Catholics. As long as they agree Mary means the Fast Track to Jesus, they'll all swear to it, and insult your mental capacity for not agreeing.

How perfectly ironic! Catholic source, please?

then again, considering the source.....maybe not.!!

I agree; but then again, considering the receiver; probably not.

Why are we Christians not trying to fight off the diabolical instead of each other.

Ya know; the JW's and also the Mormons say exactly the same thing.

Your reliance on Scripture alone ignores that Jesus Christ appointed a leader of His church and that Scripture came from sacred tradition and the leaders of the Catholic Church.

Our reliance on Scripture alone SHOWS that Jesus Christ did NOT appoint a leader of His church!

You just do NOT understand!

Have you REALLY no clue as to what ‘go through’ means?

Watch Blues Brothers again.

The police chase them THROUGH a mall.

I'll pick the one Jesus used.

And which one was that?

I've read where He 'used' Isaiah once. Maybe more...

I am sorry you have chosen to be blinded to all the beauty of the Catholic Church.

It's ALWAYS the CHURCH with you guys!

Isaiah 52:2-3

2 And he shall grow up as a tender plant before him, and as a root out of a thirsty ground: there is no beauty in him, nor comeliness: and we have seen him, and there was no sightliness, that we should be desirous of him:
3 Despised, and the most abject of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with infirmity: and his look was as it were hidden and despised, whereupon we esteemed him not.

Luke 4:17

I’ve read where He ‘used’ Isaiah once.

Yep. All those POPES that said they spoke for GOD, was wrong. And history proves me right. In every age, there always people who claims that they speak for GOD. And all of them have been thrown in the ash heap of history. Even today, in every religion, we find people who says they speak for GOD. The most glaring are these Muslims of today, that claim they speak for GOD. Eventually, they will also wind up in the ash heap of history

Why do you believe we are wrong and you are right? How do you know for certain it is not reversed?

The Catholic religion and the bible contradict each other...One of them is trash...So the choice is easy...

Protestants only know what their televangelists tell them.

It never ceases to amaze me how incapable Catholics are of understanding that others do not follow men as Catholics do.

They simply cannot wrap their minds around the fact that followers of Christ follow CHRIST, not a human stand in for Him.

Catholics prohibited from owning Scripture

COUNCIL OF TOULOUSE - 1229 A.D Canon 14. We prohibit also that the laity should be permitted to have the books of the Old or New Testament; unless anyone from motive of devotion should wish to have the Psalter or the Breviary for divine offices or the hours of the blessed Virgin; but we most strictly forbid their having any translation of these books.

Source: Heresy and Authority in Medieval Europe, Edited with an introduction by Edward Peters, Scolar Press, London, copyright 1980 by Edward Peters, ISBN 0-85967-621-8, pp. 194-195, citing S. R. Maitland, Facts and Documents [illustrative of the history, doctrine and rites, of the ancient Albigenses & Waldenses], London, Rivington, 1832, pp. 192-194.

The Council of Tarragona of 1234, in its second canon:

“No one may possess the books of the Old and New Testaments in the Romance language, and if anyone possesses them he must turn them over to the local bishop within eight days after promulgation of this decree, so that they may be burned lest, be he a cleric or a layman, he be suspected until he is cleared of all suspicion.” (-D. Lortsch, Historie de la Bible en France, 1910, p.14.)

I interpret the Calvinist site to be fallible.

How would you know??? You didn't even know your own Catholic Eucharist was a re-presentation of the Crucifixion...

followers of Christ follow CHRIST, not a human stand in for Him.

Inasmuch as they have faith in Christ, repent of their sins, and keep the commandments, they are followers of Christ.

Inasmuch as they follow doctrines of men, like Sola Scriptura, they are followers of human tradition.

This is why Christ's Church teaches that followers of Luther are imperfectly united to the Body of Christ, to varying degrees.

"If he will not listen to the church, treat him as a pagan or tax collector." --Jesus

Jesus gave His Church, the "pillar and foundation of truth," the Authority to teach and to discipline --to bind and loose. Christ did not give this Authority to Luther or Calvin, or any of their disciples.

"Go and make disciples of all the nations... teaching them everything I have commanded you." --Jesus

16 All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
17 so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Verse 16 & 17 refer to OT scriptures. What about Timothy's "teachings." Again this does nothing to prove you are correct and the Catholic church is not.

It says ALL scripture IS inspired...It doesn't say the OT WAS inspired...Obviously you are saying the New Testament is not to be considered scriptures...We know better than that...The New Testament is scripture just as much as the Old Testament is...

I guess that is one reason we Catholics get frustrated with these kinds of threads, satan is destroying the world and all of you are concerned is if I pray a rosary or not. Don’t you all get it, this is what satan wants, keeping the focus off of him. Wake up, people!

The world is going to be destroyed whether we unite with your false religion or not....

What is important is NOT saving the world, but saving souls before they die or the world ends (as we know it)...
