Exactly. I've been saying that for years, but it bears repeating. It is amazing how supposedly intelligent people cannot grasp such a fundamental point.

Jesus didn't need to explicitly oppose homosexuality because no one in his Jewish milieu was condoning it. Paul needed to explicitly oppose it because he was the apostle to the gentiles, where homosexuality was widely accepted.

Sodomy was widely practiced in the pagan communities, but it was NEVER an exclusive sexual activity. IOW: They would have sodomy as a form of domination over their slaves and for their own gratification, but it was never accepted as the optimal sexual outlet. It was also never codified in any form of law like marriage. Either monogamous or polygamous.
