We don’t know the exact nature of the encyclical, just that it deals with man’s relationship to the Earth.
Were you this critical when he spoke up for persecuted Christians? Were you this critical when he personally received the family of an ISIS-murdered Christian? Were you this critical when he began actively ministering to the poor in his diocese of Rome? You know the sleeping bags and showers?
You may dislike any number of things about his style, which are free game. However, you may want to consider his demonstration of the Cardinal Virtues.
