A lot of the problems are logic and cultural errors, not theology per se. Illiterate Africans learn from preaching, and now a days from Nollywood films. City Filipinos read their bible, but older and poorer ones can barely read, but they learn about Jesus in plays, pageants and fiestas. For 1500 years, before the printing press and widespread literacy,few read the bible but people knew little intellectually about Jesus but they knew and loved him.
as for tradition, unless you are reading pdf files of ancient manuscripts, you bible was translated by ministers and Anglican bishops using ancient traditions.
If you are unsure what a text reads, you either ask your minister or find a good bible study to explain it. Yes, we rely on the Holy Spirit on how to apply it to our lives, but even then sometimes discernment of spirits is required.
