It’s too easy to fire off short, snarky responses. If we had a delete button, I’d probably take back half of the ones I write. That’s one of the problems with instantaneous, non face-to-face communication. Sometimes the moment gets the better of you.

There's always the abuse button. You can hit it on yourself. I have and it works.

The problem is, this is not instantaneous communication. It takes time to compose a response, as opposed to saying something off the cuff that you will regret later.

Since one has to think of the response and take the time to type it and check for spelling and grammar errors, lest the grammar police show up, there's hardly an excuse for shooting off something without thinking about it.

I have posted stuff I've later asked to be deleted and stuff that I deleted before I even hit the post button (which I have to do TWICE) to post my response.
