Matthias was not anointed by Yeshua.
The other apostles were not commissioned to select a successor.
They asked for an answer from God and got silence, so then they did the pagan thing and drew lots. They sinned.
Yeshua selected his own apostle, as he always intended.
Matthias was never heard from again.
