Let no one, then, pass judgment on you in matters of food and drink or with regard to a festival or new moon or Sabbath (Col. 2:16).
That is a reference Paul used for Ezekiel 45:17 which details a future where drink and meat offerings were going to be administered.
A look at a millennial kingdom.
Paul says those drink offerings, meat offerings that were detailed were shadows of things to come.
Those new moons, Sabbaths and feasts according to prophets are not done away with.
Isaiah 66:22-24 says new moons and Sabbaths will be around with the new heavens and new earth..
Now Ezekiel does hint that there will be a time when all those offerings will be shown again, but we would not they would be not for atonement but for instruction when David sits as prince and the Messiah as King.
(If one believes in a literal 1000 year reign)
The burnt offerings, meal offerings, drink offerings have been satisfied by one perfect offering,
Read Ezekiel 45:17 and read Colossians 2:16 together and you may see why Paul mention those offerings were shadows to come.. ( not the past - unless one sees Ezekiel fulfilled already) and why the same exact order was used.
There are no more meat offerings, drink offerings that are to occur on feasts or the new moon or the sabbaths.
Paul inst saying new moons, feasts or sabbatha have been done away with.
Prophets like Ezekiel and Isaiah’s prophecies say just the opposite.
The savior’s major life events fell on new moons, Sabbaths and feasts.
Not December 25 or good Friday or easter.
Those have zero to do with the body of the Messiah..
You are free to ignore it all..
Then you may miss that Rome’s Jesus is a false Christ..with another gospel according to Rome’s catechism, not according to scripture..
But we are saved by grace through faith.
Faith in a counterfeit I pray, is still saved..
