Look no further than the Argentine Socialist who now occupies the throne of St. Peter. Most of what he says goes in one ear and out the other as far as I am concerned. I truly wish we would avoid topics such as politics and economics. Not looking forward to his upcoming encyclical on global warming which I am certain will be pile of crap.

Now...one the other hand...the current Pope has said some things about compulsory clerical celibacy which I do strongly agree with. Pope Francis has stated:

1) The policy is considered a discipline, not a dogma or a doctrine of the Church. True.

2) The policy is always subject to change. True.

3) The policy was enacted many centuries after the founding of the Church. True.

Funny, though, when I say exactly the same things I am branded a heretic or worse -—a Protestant! Horrors! by some in my Church.

Okay, YEOW! Hopefully, the RC brigade does not find out your address and show up on your porch. On a lighter note, you are absolutely right about the evolution of the compulsory clerical celibacy...even Peter did not abide this crazy demand. And, really, no man should whether he is a teacher of the Scriptures or a shoe maker. If you want to get married, Paul says get married. But, you have identified an example of the wrongheaded demands Rome has placed on folks. Continue to examine, my FRiend, not only will the global warming argument be disagreeable, but Rome’s view of sacerdotalism, purgatory, sacramentalism, transubstantiation, and several others will likely grind your gears. And, if you are found to be a “protester”, well, so be it. It is fine out here with just Jesus and His Scriptures.
