They retain the appearance of bread. That appearance would include chemical composition. They don't have DNA.

I thought we all knew that.

Then they do not turn into the flesh and blood of anything...Flesh and blood have DNA...I thought we all knew that...

Flesh and blood in the biological, physiological sense have DNA. Flesh and blood in the real, substantial sense do not necessarily have DNA.

The consecrated Host has no physiological functions. For instance It has no respiratory reflexes, It has no circulatory system, It has no musculature. But it is Christ's real, substantial Body under the appearance (and that would include the chemical analysis) of bread.

Maybe you didn't know that.
