Why would some of John’s disciples, who left to follow Jesus need to be rebaptized, since their sins were remitted by the baptism of John? But was John’s baptism valid if the people in Acts had to be rebaptized?

If baptism in water for remission of sin was so important it would be mentioned far more than it is.
