I like a simple “Believe on thee Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved” to start.

That sure sounds simple alright. As simple as baking a cake. Makes ya wonder what all the stuff in the next two verses was all about.

The eunuch in Acts 8 wanted to stop and get wet. Makes ya wonder what it was Philip said when he "preached unto him Jesus."

Makes ya wonder why Peter didn't say, in Acts 2, "Oh you just have to believe, that's all. Nevermind, I see you've already done that. Okay, I'm outta here."

Makes ya wonder why Ananias didn't tell Saul, "And now why tarriest thou, arise and, um, well just get up that's all."

**Makes ya wonder why Ananias didn’t tell Saul, “And now why tarriest thou, arise and, um, well just get up that’s all.” **

Paul was already saved on the Damascus road. Check out the words of GOD about him. He speaks of Paul being a chosen vessel even though Paul had not been baptized yet.

ACTS9:
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a CHOSEN VESSEL unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

The baptism was merely a formality of following the Lord in believer’s baptism.

Perhaps you wonder because you read your catechism as the 'bible'...We don't have to wonder what Philip taught just by reading the Eunuch's response...

Act 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
Act 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

That's when the Eunuch received the Spiritual baptism...When he no longer needed a man to teach him...And THEN, he got wet...

This is a very important verse...Monumental I guess you could say...

First, it proves your current pope lied when he said it is not a requirement to believe in Jesus to be a (Catholic) Christian...Or something close to that effect...And secondly, this eliminates any possibility of babies being baptized...

If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest...
