And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Revelation 18:4
I’d be interested to know what year it was when he left the priesthood.
I thought that you could only swim across the Tiber one way. (/sarcasm) I’m glad that the Holy Spirit softened this man’s heart to allow him to see the truth.

“I had to admit to God and to myself that I was in love with Yvonne!”
So, the good Father fell in love with a nun and left the priesthood when she did? And then he came to the realization that the Catholic Church was wrong?
Puhlease. I know there have to be better examples out there than this.
Maybe you should call it “Running away from your vows”. Will he divorce his wife, too, when he finds someone prettier? Sad.
The CHNetwork collects and presents stories from non-Catholic clergy and lay people whom God has led home to the Catholic Church. Our Lord Jesus Christ is calling men and women from all backgrounds and walks of life into full communion with His Body.
Enjoy these inspiring stories and be sure to share them with those who might find them similarly inspiring or encouraging!
I’m fascinated yet disheartened by those who say that they were raised Catholic and then were “saved” and became Protestant. They hold onto this blackened part of their heart that they just can’t let go of. I can’t say the same for the many Protestants who converted to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church...many I know speak with fondness for their former church(es).
At least we agree on one point.
This website (remnantofgod) also contains the largely debunked "conversion" of Alberto Rivera and the completely fabricated "Jesuit Oath", etc.

I'm always amazed at the sources that some frequent to advance an agenda. This thread helps me remember why I largely avoid the Religion Forum.
I know for sure the conversion of former priest Richard Bennett is true. I have never met Richard personally, but I know men who know him.
Here is link to Richard’s website. His life is a wonderful testimony of God’s free and sovereign grace.

Those former Catholics who have been truly saved were saved not by joining a Protestant congregation, but by grace through the means of faith in Christ alone.
Those former Catholics likely came to understand Rome has another gospel. My church has a number of these folks. Most all of them still have family members in the Catholic church, as do I. We don’t hate the Roman Catholic people whatsoever, we hate the false religious system that has ensnared so many souls, some of them souls we dearly love.
It’s only natural for people to have negative view of a system that was leading them, and may still be leading love ones, into the abyss.
If you look online you can see the basic story is true. It is also clear he had the hots for a nun and that that influenced his decision. She also was clearly interested in him. God only knows how inappropriate their relationship was before they left the religious life. I hope they didn’t break their vows.
Just did some research and it appears it is true. He wrote a book called “Never the Same”.
I am very familiar with people who have left the Church for various reasons, but they do not have the sort of venomous hatred of Catholics that I see among those who are "converted" through the deceitful works of anti-Catholics. These people ARE NOT Christians, their "religion" is anti-Catholicism; they do not believe in anything, they lie about the Truth in the same way all of Satan's agents have since the Garden of Eden.
