If *Protestantism* is invalidated based on the behavior of certain religious figures allegedly within it, then it says the same thing for Catholicism with its religious leaders and the lifestyles they lived.

Not true...none of those naughty Catholics attempted to change church teachings at all whereas the protestant "leaders" did....none of the naughty Catholics decided to eliminate books from the bible....some protestants did.
The Catholics, like everyone else, are wholly responsible for their behavior and will be dealt with....just like the rest of us
