The only book which to me seems not to belong is the Book of Job.
On the other hand, people a lot smarter than me included it so I must be wrong.
Paul quoted from Job in both Romans 11:35 and 1 Corinthians 3:19. James 5:11 refers to Job as an example of perseverance. And in Ezekiel 14:14, Job is mentioned along with Noah and Daniel. Those are a few reasons I believe it’s both historically true and inspired.
My pastor preached a series on Job over a period of six months or so. It was one of the most beneficial studies I’ve ever been through. It ended more than a year ago and people in my congregation are still discussing it. If you want to understand Satan and how the world system operates, study Job.
Job is a very interesting book. I have read it and marvel at it. Reputed to be one of the oldest books of the Bible, it has a reference to dinosaurs. Ecclesiastes and Job are enigmatic, books that do not make sense due to subject matter and their authors. But hey, what do we mere mortals know? Deut. 29; 29: The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
It appears we were not to know all things, just be happy we know what we know, and from the looks of history and the status quo, we are not.
Why do you think Job doesn’t belong? It has some of the greatest lessons in it about the proper perspective we should have on God in the whole Bible. Job learned to justify God, that God is perfectly righteous and the fault belonged to him because he concentrated on justifying himself rather than God. When things go wrong we can tend to become angry at God which is completely wrong. God is always right and all people deserve, apart from His grace, to go to hell.
