Some intriguing details from NPR:
In Washington, D.C., construction is underway on the Museum of the Bible, an eight-story, $400 million enterprise funded by Hobby Lobby president Steve Green.
Green is a Pentecostal known for donating to conservative evangelical universities and developing a public school curriculum based on the Bible. After the craft store’s controversial victory in this summer’s Supreme Court ruling over contraception, some people worry the new museum will come across as evangelical propaganda. But organizers behind Green’s latest venture say it won’t be a memorial to evangelism.
The Museum of the Bible will house the more than 40,000 artifacts in Green’s personal collection, including Jewish Torah scrolls and papyrus fragments of the New Testament.
But the museum won’t just put relics on display. As museum President Cary Summers explains, visitors can stroll through the biblical garden.
“So people can actually see what a Rose of Sharon is,” he says. “And what does a Hyssop bush look like?”
They can visit the café for flatbread, date honey and other biblical foods. It’s part of what Summers calls an “immersive” experience.
“We want this to be highly engaging for people of all ages, all cultural backgrounds, all faiths, no faiths,” he says.
And you can visit the Museum of the Bible website for more info about what’s planned.

The museum in Washington, D.C. will be housed in a 430,000-square-foot building just two blocks from the National Mall and three blocks from the nations Capitol, and it will open in the fall of 2017. It will provide guests with an immersive and personalized experience as they explore the history, narrative, and impact of the Bible.
Gutsy move! How long before the muslims open their Qu'uran Museum directly across the street.
Ping!
Wow! That sounds like a place to visit.
ALSO ... don’t miss this fantastic Creation Museum, which is STRICTLY BIBLICAL and presents the Bible Account of Creation and the Flood ... which are TWO KEY PARTS for establishing a good basis for what the Bible has to say about Salvation!

You can’t go wrong here because “Answers in Genesis” is strictly and exclusively BIBLICAL in its science. The Bible and science are not against each other because science originates with God (He made it all doncha know ... )!
.....But the same Muslims MUST FIRST condemm the horrible attacks by their radical counterparts against Christian believers in the Middle East. Then we could talk about a Koran museum across the street. SARC.
Excellent.
God Bless and keep these folks who put this Bible museum together.
At first I thought it was Steve Green, the gospel singer, but it is a different one. I hope this museum is in view of the most Godless house in the country: The White House.
So will there be an exhibit showing Eve picking lice out of Cain and Abel’s coats and eating them while Adam throws his pooh at other members of the “proto-human population?”
That sounds really cool! I admire Hobby Lobby, anyway, but the artifacts, food, plants... For those of us who will never make it to the Holy Land, seeing things from that area, mentioned in the Bible, would be a wonderful thing.
In other words, not by a Catholic.
ROTFL - see post #12
Some will say that DC needs a Bible Museum, but there are way, way too many museums there already. Too much for anyone to see in a reasonable visit. We need a moratorium. No More incredibly expensive Memorials, Statues, Museums.
That was my thought.
Why is that such an important observation to make on this thread? The Canon of Scripture was compiled by the Catholic Church, regardless of who builds a museum to celebrate the Bible.
I don't know when the Muzzies will try to take over the museum, and make it into a Muzzie site, but when they do, it will be at the request of the government, or at least with the full cooperation of it.
Yet another post bashing Protestants Catholics!
SS(tuff)DD (yawn)
They could put all their positive accomplishments in a phone booth.....and still have room for the stool and telephone.
Gutsy move! How long before the muslims open their Qu'uran Museum directly across the street.
But, didn't you know? That museum is also holy for the Muslims, because it was at that location that Muhammad once used a pay phone. Therefore, it would be impossible for them to settle for one across the street, and will just have to take this one over for themselves.
